Journey back to the Crossroads

Heading back to the hotel, tired, hungry, depressed he approaches Hunts Books Store, but the owner is alarmed by his presence and demands he leaves. He soon discovers the reason for this treatment. Lingering in front of an art store with circus posters in the window, the owner becomes aware that Hatch is the man who appeared in the paper. Several of her art students were in the store when it happened and they saw him in his delirious state grab Mrs. Huntington’s breast. Over a potluck supper they tell him what they saw what happened. Hatch took the opportunity to explain why he was in the book store and what he had done to put him on his quest. They alert him to the fact that the police were called.
